Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd. the former Shanghai Electrical Apparatus Research Institute, was established in 1953 . In the company,there are 42 specialists with special government subsidies,about 180 senior researches and over 300 associate researchers. It also has over 20 project managers or state project supervisors.In addtonal,there are over 10 assessors or laboratory vertifiers for the National Quality System.The company has five divisions and three R&D departments.The main projects include electronic information technology,intellectual traffic system,digital and intellectual integration of systems,technology of new material and new process and new technology related to application of electric machine,electric appliance,Electric devices and boards intended for marine application,electrotechnology alloy material. Our company is responsible for crafting standards for three industry associations such as apparatus of low voltage, medium and small sized electric motors and radio interference as well as crafting standards for over ten technical committees (or branch committees) subordinated to International Electrotechnology (IEC) Committee. Our company is also working as secretariats of three sub-associations of China Electric Appliance Industry Association and four speciality committees of China Electrotechnology Institute.
In the past 50 years , the company has made more than 2000 scientific and technological achievements. It won 4 National Innovation Awards, 14 National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards , over 300 ministerial and provincial Scientific and Technological Progress Awards . A great number of those achievements were turned into major products of related enterprises and has already made significant contributions. The company is certified as enterprise of advanced technology in Shanghai city and is now nominated as the model unit in the Shanghai city and the field of the national machinery industry
